High - Performance Detection Capability

The KEYENCE FS - N18P is a digital fiber optic sensor designed for industrial automation. It features a red 4 - element LED as the light source, with a wavelength of 630 nm. This light source provides a stable and reliable light beam for detection tasks. With a response time that can be set as fast as 50 μs in HIGH SPEED mode, it can quickly detect the presence or absence of objects. The sensor is capable of detecting extremely small objects, such as wires as small as ø0.6 μm, making it suitable for applications where high - precision detection is required, like in the electronics manufacturing industry for detecting tiny components.

Versatile Output and Control Options

This FS - N18P sensor has a PNP output type, which is widely used in industrial control systems. The control output is a PNP open collector 24 V, with 1 output that can handle a maximum of 100 mA or less. When used in multiple connections, the current limit is adjusted accordingly to ensure stable operation. It supports Light - ON/Dark - ON output switching, allowing users to configure the sensor to activate the output based on whether the light is detected or blocked. Additionally, it comes with a variety of timer functions, including timer off, Open delay, open delay,and single - shot. These timer functions can be used to control the sensor's output timing according to different industrial process requirements.

Excellent Environmental Adaptability

The FS - N18P is designed to withstand harsh industrial environments. In terms of ambient light resistance, it can work properly under incandescent lamp illumination of 20,000 lux or lower and sunlight illumination of 30,000 lux or lower. Its ambient temperature range is from - 20 °C to +55 °C (with some adjustments depending on the number of connected units), enabling it to be used in various temperature - demanding industrial settings. The relative humidity range of 35 to 85% rh (no condensation) ensures its normal operation in humid environments. With a vibration resistance of 10 to 55 Hz, double amplitude 1.5 mm in the X, Y, and Z directions for 2 hours each, and a shock resistance of 500 m/s², 3 times in each of the X, Y, and Z directions, this sensor can endure vibrations and shocks commonly encountered in industrial machinery, providing long - term stable performance.
